Speed coaching for the rugby pathway
From school 1st XV to regional age-grade squads and academy selection, the rugby pathway tests speed at every stage — timed 10m and 40m sprints are standard at assessment days. Most players prepare with more rugby. The smart ones prepare with sprint coaching.

- School players pushing for 1st XV, district or national age-grade selection

What we train
Assessment-day sprints
10m and 40m timed runs are rugby's standard tests. We train them specifically and track your splits.
Acceleration for contact
Winning the first three steps off a ruck decides the gain line — the fastest gains for forwards.
Max velocity for backs
Flying 20s and 30s with full recovery, so the top-end speed is there when the break comes.
Hamstring resilience
Progressive sprint exposure is rugby's best hamstring injury prevention — built into every block.

Frequently asked questions
When should we start before an assessment?
4–6 weeks out is ideal. Technique-driven gains come quickly, and we taper the load so you test fresh.
I'm a prop — is sprint coaching really for me?
Especially for you. Front-five players typically gain the most, fastest, because nobody has ever coached their acceleration.
Do you work with schools?
Yes — we deliver group speed sessions for school and club squads across Edinburgh and the Lothians.
