Meet your coach

Arrive 5 minutes early at Meadowbank Sports Centre (EH7 6AE). Your coach will meet you at reception, introduce themselves, and explain how the session works.

Movement assessment

Before any drills, your coach watches you move and sprint. They identify your strengths, your mechanical inefficiencies, and what to prioritise first.

Coached session

A structured hour of drills, technique work, and acceleration coaching. Your coach gives real-time feedback on every rep. You'll feel the difference immediately.

Running trainers

Flat-soled running shoes or spikes if you have them. Football boots are fine for sport-specific sessions.

Sports kit

Comfortable training clothes you can move freely in. Layers recommended for outdoor sessions.

Sessions are intense — stay hydrated. Bring a full bottle and refill at the centre if needed.

Cancellation policy

We ask for at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Late cancellations and no-shows may be subject to a charge. Life happens — if something comes up, just let us know as early as possible and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

If you're unsure, just book with Allan Smith first — he'll advise you on the right coach for your goals.
Absolutely. Most of our clients come from team sports backgrounds with no formal athletics training. Your first session always starts with a full assessment — there's no assumed knowledge and no expectations beyond showing up ready to work.
In most cases we have availability within a few days. The Acuity booking system shows real-time availability for each coach — you'll see the next open slots immediately when you book online.
1:1 and group sessions are based at Meadowbank Sports Centre, 139 London Road, Edinburgh, EH7 6AE. Speed School runs at The Meadows, Melville Drive, Edinburgh EH9, every Monday at 6pm. Full directions are on our Location page.
A single session is a great way to experience the coaching before committing. That said, most clients who try one session sign up for a plan — because one session shows you what's possible, and a plan is where you actually get there. Your coach will recommend the right plan for you at the end of your first session.
You can reschedule directly through the Acuity booking system using the link in your confirmation email — no need to contact us. Please give at least 24 hours notice where possible.
