A retired professional high jumper, Allan represented Great Britain and Scotland on the international stage for over a decade. His career highlights include 4x British Championship titles, Commonwealth Games & European Championship finalist, and a personal best of 2.29m – placing him among the top British high jumpers of his generation.
With a deep understanding of biomechanics, power development, and performance mindset, Allan now channels his expertise into coaching sprinters, jumpers, and athletes seeking to improve acceleration, top-end speed, and athletic explosiveness. His coaching philosophy blends elite training principles with accessible, tailored programming to help every athlete achieve their full potential.

Now, as a coach with the Great Britain national team, Allan brings world-class insight to the athletes he trains.
With years of experience competing at the top level, Allan understands the demands of high-performance sprinting. His technical knowledge, combined with the mindset of a champion, allows him to coach with both expertise and empathy. From block starts to maximal velocity mechanics, Allan delivers coaching that is grounded in evidence, experience, and excellence.
In addition to his GB duties, Allan plays a key role at Edinburgh Sprint Coach, where he mentors sprinters of all levels—from juniors to senior competitors—helping them improve explosiveness, race execution, and mental toughness. UKA Level 2 Speed CoachBeth Campbell is a passionate and ambitious sprint coach who brings fresh energy and a strong foundation in athletic development to the Edinburgh Sprint Coach team.
As a UK Athletics Level 2 Speed Coach, Beth is making her mark in the coaching world, working closely with developing sprinters and athletes of all ages to build speed, confidence, and technical ability. Her coaching approach is athlete-centred, focusing on clear communication, positive reinforcement, and building solid fundamentals from the ground up.
A former athlete herself, Beth understands the demands of training and the importance of long-term development. She is committed to continually learning and refining her craft, working alongside experienced coaches and staying up to date with the latest methods in sprint performance and youth development.
With a natural ability to connect with younger athletes and beginners, Beth plays a key role in delivering high-quality, engaging coaching sessions that lay the foundation for long-term success in sport.
