Allan Smith is the founder and head coach of Edinburgh Sprint Coach — one of the most experienced coaches in Scottish athletics, having worked inside elite sport environments since 2013. A retired professional high jumper who represented Great Britain and Scotland on the international stage for over a decade, his career highlights include four British Championship titles, Commonwealth Games and European Championship finals, and a personal best of 2.29m, placing him among the top British high jumpers of his generation. Alongside his own competitive career, Allan has led multiple run, jump and throw programmes, coaching hundreds of athletes every week. He now channels that elite experience into coaching athletes of every sport and level in Edinburgh.

As a coach with the Great Britain national team, Allan brings world-class competitive insight to every athlete he works with. His technical knowledge, combined with an active competitor's mindset, makes him exceptional at coaching sprint mechanics from block starts to maximal velocity.

As a UKA Level 2 Speed Coach, Beth works closely with developing sprinters and athletes of all ages to build speed, confidence, and technical ability. Her coaching approach is athlete-centred, focusing on clear communication, positive reinforcement, and building solid fundamentals from the ground up. She is particularly skilled with younger athletes and beginners.

Lorna Fleming is an experienced track and field coach, dual-qualified in both speed and endurance disciplines — a rare combination that lets her work right across the sport, from pure sprinting through to distance-based events. On the track, that means covering the full sprint spectrum — 60m, 100m, 200m and 400m — plus the speed-endurance work those longer sprints demand. She works with athletes of all ages and levels, focusing on proper mechanics, strength, acceleration, and race preparation, and that breadth across disciplines makes her the ideal coach for 400m athletes and team sport athletes who need both speed and conditioning.
